Founder member of Zu, Hazel is a combined arts practitioner exploring the fusion of dance, aerial circus and physical theatre. Her training includes the Arts Educational School, London Contemporary Dance School, Circus Maniacs and overseas study in Thailand and Cuba.
Hazel founded Zu Aerial Dance in 2004 and her work has been supported by Arts Council England, Grass Roots and Made in Brighton. Outside of Zu she continues to work as a freelance performer, choreographer and workshop facilitator. She has performed nationally and internationally with Zu, Gravity Levity, Scarabeus, Periplum and Expressive Feat.

Beginning her training in contemporary dance, ballet and contact improvisation, Naomi branched out into the circus world in 2008 performing acrobalance.  She went on to complete her aerial training at New England Centre for Circus Arts (NECCA), USA with ex Cirque du Soleil aerialists Elsie and Serenity Smith. On returning to England she joined Zu Aerial bringing her specialisms as a dancer, aerialist and acrobalance artist. Naomi is Zu’s main collaborator whilst continuing to develop her own work. She featured as a ‘Mary Poppins’ in the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony.

Helen Day

An actress, dancer and aerialist, Helen is a corde-lisse and silk performer who enjoys exploring character work in the air and blending aerial work with dance technique.
Helen has worked as a collaborator and performer with Zu Aerial since 2008 whilst maintaining her freelance career and managing H2oh! Entertainment – a British based event management company, providing performers both nationally and internationally for a wide spectrum of events.
